The Brief

To design, manage and deliver an empowering event in order to celebrate International Women's Day.

The Idea

A full takeover of the Facebook Partner Centre with impactful branding throughout the entire event floor, WAF were tasked with creating meaningful touchpoints for over 220 guests. Working with predominately female suppliers WAF designed and managed everything from large scale bespoke set structures to detailed table styling with the overarching event intent in mind at all times.

The Result

To kick off the morning, guests indulged in a breakfast served up in an afternoon tea style followed by a host of inspiring talks from influential speakers including; How To Own The Room by Viv Groskop and How To Fail by Elizabeth Day, as well as educational panels on Breaking Taboos with Leo Burnett, Farah Kabir and Hamaam Kaur, Be The Ally with Antonio Lucio, Daren Ruins and Matt Farquharson, and lastly, Feminision For The #MeToo Generation with Chidera Eggerue, Jessie Burton and Scarlett Curtis. A conversation with Helena Bonham Carter followed by an uplifting performance by Kingdom Choir had everyone up on their feet and dancing together, a beautiful close to the breakfast.

As the morning developed, guests had the opportunity to network and interact with the multiple activations throughout the event space. A Headshot Studio offered guests the opportunity to receive professional photos with an event specific twist. Guests were invited to donate clothes to Smart Works, a charity drive collecting clothes for women in need via the bespoke made Clothing Drive space. A Changemaker's Boutique sat proudly in the centre of the room on a triangular peg board, featuring six incredible female led SMB's; Otiumberg, Creighton's Chocolaterie, Girls Who Grind Coffee, Scamp & Dude, Litwicks and Skandihus. The main space was peppered with inspirational and relevant quotes and event branding creating a suitable backdrop to a memorable event.
