Facebook International Women's Day

The Brief

International Women's Day celebrated for another year at Facebook headquarters in London catering for 360 guests. The brief was to design and deliver an engaging event space and considered guest journey that would help to build equity in the #SheMeansBusiness brand, show support for female led business and provide a stage for Facebook as a leader and advocate for women in leadership and inclusion.

The Idea

Distilling the #SheMeansBusiness brand was crucial in developing the visual narrative across all event touchpoints. The stairs used across the design assets embodied the support, boost and development Facebook is offering the community, a symbol used in the design of all bespoke build and seen across the graphic design collateral.

The Result

Guests started the day with a series of panel conversations and key speaker talks including a appearances from Twiggy and the Sugababes on a stage designed to be flexible with various seating arrangements, stairs and ramp access, and an asymmetrical backdrop with touches of floral to soften the linear build. Breakfast table design was thoughtfully considered to cater for 10 guests at each table, with sharing platters. Crisp white tableware was juxtaposed against the colour in menu graphics and bright spring modern florals to enhance the event design identify.

After breakfast a secondary event space was waiting for guests who were invited to network, take a photo at the professional headshot studio, browse the pop-up boutique which showcased several SMBs and meet the entrepreneurs behind each brands, donate to Smart Works via the clothing display, take a photo at the photo op or simply network with tea and coffee. The entire day was a huge success, the event was designed to encourage guest interaction allowing new connections to be made and the client was thrilled with the results.
